Just ten years ago cow milk was “just milk” and still as normal as butter or eggs in every fridge. Today Google friendly health wisdom makes it a jungle to figure out: WHAT it is good / bad to you and your family.
I miss the GOT MILK campaigns – just enjoy, don’t care, relax, drink milk because (…or if) you love it.
Back in the days I was called “milky girl” by my mom as in: I loooooved milk. Today a few, or some summers later, milk – as in cow milk – has become the devil in the fridge or in the tummies.
↑ I’m not totally happy about the “diet GOT MILK” posters ↑ – the 90’ties “perform to your max – do your best – loose weight” strategies… focus today will probably be a bit more mind based ; ) Last year to many kids at the age of ONLY ten had stress symptoms, early stages of depressions, anxiety attacks and eating disorders. Due to living after the most simple rules: 1000% perfect without any mistakes. That’s scary.
My kids don’t have a clue of who the stars are on these posters : ) as in: no “YouTube-celebs” = it’s a BYT before Youtube campaign!+ before smartphones and SoMe. And it is also before vegan-veggie-flexi-pesci-eat-organic-clean became the new black.
But is it bad / good / perfect? To me, to you, us? Who knows? And. What is next?
I don’t drink gallons of milk everyday. A bit of good taste and nice organic quality everyday = basics of my healthy lifestyle. I enjoy full fat cow milk in my coffee. I have tried all kinds of plant alternatives, and the result = no happy coffee breaks to me but a lack-of-taste – I was missing the full fat flavour (please notice: I have all the respect in the world for you who love plant milk ; ). Delicious coffee = a happy mind = VERY important ; )
I would love a fair fun fact MILK campaign (bold with clear basic evidens please) – with a no BS focus on the animal vs veggie-plant debates – for kids to understand and remember that a strong healthy growing body, teeth and happy mind is alpha omega.
